Hi guys!
I recently had some free time to finish rendering and to compose an older project.

It started as an exercise at Visual Concept Studio but never got finished.
Some screenshots can be seen on my old demo reel but now i’ve changed the lighting a bit and also I’ve changed the foreground elements.
Cosmin Genete did most of the modeling and the texture maps (the industrial area, the suburbs, the trains and the train station), I did the shading, lighting, rendering and compositing and I made the city gate, the down-town and the rail-road system. Catalin Ion animated some people that are scattered in the industrial area but at this render size you can’t really see them (the project was supposed to be rendered in hd 1280×720).

It’s possible that in the future I’ll add some geometric details for the face but I’m not sure yet, it depends on what spare time I’ll have. The wip thread can be viewed here.

Next I’ll have to rig and envelope the character so that i can pose it how i want, after that I’ll make the textures and shader, and after that comes the lighting, environment and the animation.

Unlike the previous commercial that was full cg this one features both real life filmed footage and cg characters. Because of this a few challenges had to be overcome, like 3d camera tracking, realistic shaders, textures and seamless integration between the filmed footage and the cg characters.

A very nice project that i had at Studio 6 was to create a garbage truck to be used in the movie poster of “Trei fratzi de belea” made by Media Pro Pictures.

Hi guys!
One of my first job at Studio 6 was to create a 3d animation with a hovering helicopter.

The client gave us some photo references to use, it’s a Bell Jet – Ranger if I’m not wrong. I had to add some extra details compared to the original model, in this case was more important the visual look rather than the making a perfect copy of the original.

I had some spare time so I made a little animation for this scene, just to test real flow integration with XSI.

This is my newest personal project. American football player – the way that Hollywood seas it – big, bad mf

What I’ve tried to achieve: close up on an American football player in the middle of the action. Rainy cold night. The face features (?) are exaggerated, a bit cartoony, but the rest I wanted to be realistic (textures, shaders, lighting, rendering…)

ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION JOURNAL

I decided to the start this journal as a need to share with others how things are working for a 3d artist. It’s also a good way to exchange experience with other people from the industry.
I am currently employed at studio 6 as a 3d generalist.

I’ll try to keep this journal up to date describing how things are evolving in a cg production. The focus will be on my part of the job but when possible i will offer details about what the other guys are doing for that current project. Visit Studio 6 website to see more project done by the studio.

Due to the NDA (non disclosure agreement) some project will be posted after the product is on the market and because near to the deadline i usually have very little free time it’s possible that this journal will be updated rarely in that period of time.

Also my English writing skill isn’t my strongest point but i do my best to improve it. Please be patient
